Pezenas is the center of the Antiques trade in the South of France – twice a year, on the first Sunday in May and the second Sunday in October, the main street of Pezenas has over a thousand antique stalls – much is junk, but some bargains are always found.
The main street into Pezenas has 22 permanent antique dealers – I photographed them on a Monday Morning – most places are closed on Mondays so the deliberate scruffy and desolate air which antique places have (I guess to encourage you think everything is cheap and a bargain) is accentuated.
