Reasons to be Cheerful – 2
Working from home makes Wednesday special because our kids come home from school in time for lunch – due to traditions based on the needs of farming communities, there is no school on Wednesday afternoons, so even in term-time we have a family lunch together on Wednesdays. With the warm days now (34 degrees today) we are eating most meals in the garden and as there are often friends calling in or staying with us, it is a pleasure to have large family lunches mid-week.
In fact we do eat most of our meals together and everybody is involved in the conversations and has a point of view which is valued – the first round of the election is Sunday and it is a pleasure to hear that everyone, including my son Jack, aged 12, has an opinion.
Hi Tony, Carol, Pam, kids and assorted menagerie,
I’m glad to get regular missives from you once again. I can just imagine you all eating in the garden in the warm spring sunshine. As you may know, it’s also been warm here in the UK and Julie, Bradley and I have enjoyed some lovely weekends together, although not brave enough to eat outside yet! We recently bought a MGB GT to keep us amused. What a money pit it is!
I have to confess that I bought Peter Mayles’ book all those years ago and met him in Norwich when he did a book signing for his second book. He seemed a nice man.
Love to all,
Russell
