For over three years I have been researching and joining online communities like FaceBook, Iloho, Squidoo and hundreds of websites with daft names – some of these are very interesting, have good services and I can see are valuable, they will be around for a long time – many others are indulgent ego-trips for hyperactive web designers who should look for a proper job.
My reason for joining these Web2 networks has been to find a way to give a better service for people who use my websites – for over ten years I have been creating Internet sites for people seeking vacation accommodation and looking for property – most of my work has been in France as we happen to live in the South of France, but my new ideas are to offer a wider range of services through a new community website. Like magazines and television, I will support this with advertising.
