France loves cyclists and cyclists love France. Around our home in VillaRoquette are hundreds of kilometers of classic, well-surfaced country roads. You can walk or cycle for hours without meeting another person, yet you are always only a few minutes from a village or town.
OfF the roads are countless farm tracks which are open to all (a good result of the French revolution). Ancient pathways, some many thousands of years older than the Roman roads which thread through our region of Languedoc lead from the coast to the plateaux of central France, old salt trails set down in pre-history from the salt-pans on the Mediterranean can still be followed .
