The best Au Pair in the World
November 29, 2007 by Tony · 3 Comments
My wonderful 18 year old (nearly 19) daughter Miranda got her Baccalauriat International this year with the highest marks in her group for the whole department – she was asked to go up into a “high falutin” University streamer, but has decided to go out into the real world.
She is looking for a nanny or au-pair position, just about anywhere in the world. She speaks perfect French and English and has good German. She has excellent references. You can see details on her page at… Mirandas Page
House Sale – Super Special Offer

Sixteen years ago in France I started developing an old property in the super Mediterranean hillside village of Sorede as our family home. We are now selling this as I want to concentrate on our new Internet businesses, the market is always slow this time of the year and I know we should wait until Spring, but if you want a fantastic bargain, I have reduced the price from 350,000 euro to 219,000 euro for a quick sale.
It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a view over the vale of Roussillon to the Mediterranean and across the mountans to the Pyrenees yet is is in the center of one of the most popular villages in the South of France.

Long and Winding Road
November 29, 2007 by Tony · 2 Comments
This November has been a long steep mountain climb, like Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings.
Business has been horrid – people are not buying houses and prices are definitely dropping, so income has been zero (actually a minus as the French government take the same massive charges every month, even if you earn nothing).
However, next year it will be different, I have been working on the best Internet business since the abacus was invented and it will be a great success. I am working on my new websites and these are looking fantastic – it will a few months before this is bubbling and it is really exciting to get back into a real business again.
Never worry about power failure again

I always try to have a back-up power supply but this is something else – how about a three megawatt generator for your emergency power.
A friend of mine is selling a complete power supply big enough for a small town for the price of a small house – it is in a trailer, has been fully serviced and is ready to go – on Flickr here are some photos and description only one hundred thousand pounds plus VAT – it is in the UK.
French Wine

I have been planning to create a community website for wine drinkers – because I am a wine drinker and I live in France, I even have a name for my website ( www.winorati.com ) but it is right at the back of my dusty drawer of ideas. Someone who is making a series of great videos on French wine is Olivier of O-Chateau – you can see his video blog at www.winerendezvous.com it will give you a free course on France and French wines.
The Most Boring Video ever made
November 4, 2007 by Tony · 4 Comments
Driving today is not a very exciting occupation. When I first had a car (and bikes) there was no speedlimit, no crash helmet, passing your test was a simple thing, no annual roadworthy tests, (very often no brakes), no breathalysers (just walk in a straight line). Cars were dangerous, smelly, polluting and slow – the slow bit made them sort of safer, but driving was interesting, no motorways, road tolls or speed cameras.
Because old cars had no safety checks, things often fell off, wings, doors, wheels, I even had a steering wheel come off in heavy traffic once. Today driving is faster (which makes it just as dangerous) and we have invented road rage. But driving is overall boring.
One small highlight in my driving life is seeing the distance indicator ( I think it is called an odeometer) change to an interesting number – OK perhaps my life is getting a bit boring – so this week in our Renault Clio was a big occasion for me, here is the video…
