I agree in general but it is not the same for everyone. The most important things are to be tenacious and do not let your emotions drive financial decisions. Many people attempt property renovations in France where the initial cost is considerably less to start with. There are successes but as many disasters. Here is my experience - french property renovation . I could not attempt to arrive with a similar property in the U.K without considerable funds or winning the lottery. Moreover it is necessary to find a balance between achieving your dream and the harsh reality of generating revenue. As for me, I decided to create a large number of websites which make advertising revenue. The most successful of which is property for sale in france .

I have to say first class information given above in the best form, we have been living in france now for 7years + and belive me it is very difficult to make ends meet, after renovation our broken down property with what we had left in our savings which as you mention above a very costly exercise we were left with little or nothing to manage on and had to rent our property out as a gite and we ourselves lived in the barn on a mud floor! There are so many brits flooding into france yes it holds cheap properties which opens doors but when the money has all gone what happens next and as you say there are little openings for work and if work is available well rightly so it is offered to the french first and remember also we are only visitors to this wonderful country so i heed all readers the above info is of good intent.
