I got this mail from a regular reader, drop me a line if you are near them and I can pass it on.

Hi Tony,
My name is Keith and my wife’s name is Dawn. its great you started up again. I enjoy your news items. I would be grateful if you could publish this letter.
My wife and I took early retirement 3 years ago and moved from England to St Marie la Mer, (next to Canet, la Barcares and st Cyprian on the coast near Perpignan.)
We bought a plot and had a villa built. Two years ago we went to south Africa on holiday to visit our daughter. One week into our holiday, tragedy struck, my wife had a massive stroke. her life was touch and go for two days. This has now left her very disabled.
After 3 months in hospital/rehab in South Africa and England, we arrived back in St Marie la Mer. My wife continues to make a steady recovery and, although trying to learn the language, my French is not good, so our integration into French community is just a friendly hand-wave and bonjour ca-va.
Now to the point, are there any English people in Canet, le Bacares, st Cyprian, who would like to share a bottle of wine with us. I would be glad to share my knowledge and experiences of the French system.” We love it here” but would like some English friends.
Take care,
Regards,
Keith

Hi Tony - maybe you could pass this on…….
My wife (Allison) and I bought an apartment in Port Leucate 4 years ago. We’re in our early/mid 50s - at he moment we only visit 3 times a year, but plan to spend more time there when we retire (though not for a few years yet……). If Keith and Dawn would be interested in meeting up, it would be great.
Thanks and Regards
